GPAC, in partnership with Hillsides provides tuition free dance classes to youth ages 7-18 years of age. Hillsides, an established non profit 501 C3 is a premier provider dedicated to improving the overall well-being and functioning of vulnerable children, youth, and their families. Hillsides vision is to create lasting change in the lives of all at-risk children and youth that they serve. They do this by providing high quality care, advocacy, and innovative services that promote safe, permanent environments where young people can thrive. One of Hillsides programs provides residential services for children and youth who cannot live at home, who suffered trauma and who have severe emotional, psychological and behavioral challenges requiring specialized care and treatment. GPAC provides performing arts opportunities and promotes positive self expression through dance at one out of three of Hillsides group homes located in Pasadena, CA. GPAC's goal is create an inspiring enviornment through the arts where children can evolve into confident, productive, motivated, well-rounded citizens and retain the skills needed to succeed in their lives. Hillsides believes that extracurricular activities such as performing arts and dance are integral to the education and rehabilitation of students who have educational and emotional needs and have learning disabilities like attention deficit disorder. With input from children and families, Hillsides partners with other agencies and resources such as GPAC to provide the highest quality continuum of care and to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.
